We help you to get a happier and healthier life through salsa, bachata, kizomba and tango dancing!!
Khalid Lazar and Naomi Dongelmans founded Salsa Brisa to help others find happiness and better health through dance. Since 2006, the two have enjoyed great success and growing popularity in the Netherlands teaching Latin American, African and Brazilian dance techniques. Together, they are responsible for founding the now world-famous Limburg Salsa Bachata Kizomba Festival and Sardinia Sensual Festival.
With her background as a medical doctor, Naomi realized that her passion for dance had the capacity to help people cope with many afflictions including depression, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and diabetes.
Working with her partner and cook, Moroccan native Khalid, she has been able to prove that through dance, people battling depression become happier through endorphin-producing movement, and older people - even into their nineties - enjoy better mobility and feel significantly younger through exercise and positive interaction with others through dance.
With the ultimate goal of providing quality lessons combined with having fun, Salsa Brisa has been recognized with Bedrijven Awards for excellence in business in 2012 and 2013, and Freelancer of the year 2014/2015 and now have a dedicated dance school called La Mulata in Maastricht which offers a diverse timetable of lessons and events for all.
Many people come here by themselves but make new friends within no time. The relaxed atmosphere and laid-backness of Khalid & Naomi makes their place like a home for everyone.
