Negotiating cultural boundaries in the midst of a growing diversity of peoples, cultures and lifestyle.
In contemporary society, more than ever, accepting the differences between cultures has become of primary importance. The dynamics of our globalized world are characterized by an intensified diversity of peoples, communities and individuals who live more and more closely. Out of this follows the need to develop specific competences to foster intercultural sensitivity and eventually bridge differing cultural systems.
Intercultural Communication focuses on a developmental approach to building intercultural competence, regardless of your current level of cultural understanding. Established by the Language Centre of the University of Groningen, this Facebook page therefore aims at further developing your ability to communicate effectively with people from other cultures, as well as offering information about the intercultural competence skills courses on offer at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
