In many low and middle income countries (LMIC’s) the number of road traffic fatalities is high and increases rapidly.
Please note that Delft University Technology will organise in cooperation with PAO, Roadsafetyforall and SWOV, its 3nd course on Road Safety in Low and Middle Income Countries: Challenges and Strategies for Improvement from 16th September till 25th September 2014 at Delft University Technology, The Netherlands.
The course is aimed at participants who may have a background in engineering, behavioural sciences, public health, law enforcement, transportation/land use planning, statistics, economics, education and public policy. Those who are interested in participating are invited to submit a motivation letter and based on that the course leader will decide on admittance to the course. Potential participants might (aim to) play a role as lecturer or trainer, or may be affiliated to road safety policy and research. Our target group might work for central or regional public authorities, as a consultant, at universities, research institutes, police or NGO’s, etc.
We are in the process of raising funds for scholarships for 2014. A limited number of scholarships will become available. Please explain in a motivation letter why your employer will not be paying the full costs. If you applied for a scholarship in your country, please report on the outcome. A scholarship will cover max 70% of the scholarship fee, without the travel costs.
