We are creating a community in the free-safe space at De Verrekijker to spread knowledge and practice different yoga and meditation styles, making it affordable to everybody.
We are open to new types of lesson. Therefore, you are very welcome to contact us about using this free space to express and teach your own practice (whatever that may be).

At the Moment, we practice hatha, vinyasa, partner yoga and AcroYoga:
Mondays 18.45-20.15: Let's do some yoga together.*
Thursdays 18.30-20.00: Yoga with Ida.*

ABOUT YOGA:
The ancient art of yoga, is a practical aid to harmonize body, breath and spirit. In class we will move through different postures to create strength, flexibility and leave you with a sense of peace and well-being. Yoga teaches us to control our breathing, which calms the nervous system and in turn calms the mind – a valuable skill when we encounter difficulties in our day-to-day lives. It doesn’t matter who you are, yoga is truly for everybody!

ABOUT LET’S DO SOME YOGA TOGETHER:
It is a moment in which we come together and we decide together which kind of practice we want to do. The idea is to create a proper lesson for the people who join each session, therefore, the most experienced is requested to guide the class. Normally, we chose from a more soft and meditative to a more powerful and active lesson. We like to add some partner poses which help us to become more open and trust each other.

ABOUT YOGA WITH IDA:
My name is Ida, freshly graduated in clinical psychology at the VU and yoga practitioner for quite some years. I just finished an intensive 500 hr teacher training in Vinyasa yoga. As I have been walking around the VU for quite some years, I always wondered if all these brilliant minds actually still remembered they also had a body that wasn't really designed to be shrinking in front of a computer or books all day.

I think it would be awesome to give people in- and around the VU the opportunity to break out of habits, consciously move their bodies and create opportunity for stillness by providing yoga classes on the campus! And what better place to practise yoga then this haven for free spirits, de Verrekijker!

I will be teaching a physically challenging dynamic yoga class, but we will also work un building up postures from the basics. Every class starts off with a bit of yoga philosophy to chew on:) Class is open for all levels. Come breath, move and have fun together. Afterwards you can crawl back behind your computer again with fresh energy and a lighter mind!
