PoliticsCo is the UCSA committee that brings political thought, discussion and action to UCU campus. Therefore our motto: "Ipsa Scientia Potestas Est".

Geschiedenis

The Politics Committee aims to encourage, inspire and activate the scholarly thinking and participation of the students at the University College Utrecht. After all, the price of apathy towards public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (Plato, 428 BC – 348 BC). With this goal in mind, the committee primarily invites distinguished guests to take part in panels, discussions or debates. On the other side of the spectrum, the committee organizes ‘Chill Politics’ (CP) events in the form of inviting movie nights, polemical workshops and a warm members borrel and still manages to find room for excursions to civil-political and judiciary institutions. As one of the largest committees at UCU, it has had the privilege and honor to host events ranging from speakers including ambassadors in The Netherlands, ministers of the cabinet, former Commander in Chief of the Royal Dutch Armed Forces (General Van Uhm) and recently, former Secretary-General of the NATO, Mr. de Hoop Scheffer.
