Geschiedenis

Teijin Aramid, with its head office in Arnhem, is a subsidiary of the Teijin Group and part of the Teijin Aramid Fibers Business Group (AFBG). Teijin Aramid is a global leader in aramid and responsible for around 50% of the global aramid production. Wherever strength, durability, safety, heat or flame resistance or low weight is required, you will find our Twaron®, Sulfron®, Teijinconex® or Technora®. Our four high performance aramids are produced at our plants in the Netherlands and Japan. Twaron and Sulfron are produced in the Netherlands and Teijinconex and Teijin Techno Products in Japan. These products are part of Teijin Aramid’s product portfolio outside Japan. In October 2011, a new product was added: Endumax, the polyethylene product of Teijin.

Teijin Aramid is a former business unit of AkzoNobel. As a member of the Teijin Group, the company has experienced substantial growth. Teijin Aramid is multi-experienced in aramid and knows the strength, flexibility and endurance of this material. As a market leader within the high performance fiber industry, Teijin Aramid contributes to a sustainable future. Aramid is being used in a growing number of products thanks to the strength of the fiber. Weight for weight, aramid is 5 times stronger than steel. Teijin’s aramid is applied in many different applications and markets such as automotive, ballistic protection, marine, civil engineering, protective clothing, optic fiber cables and oil & gas.
