In the centre of the Gooi you will find the traditional Indian speciality restaurant TAJ MAHAL.
As you enter you will immediately take in the Indian atmosphere the restaurant is so well known for.
On December 17th 1990 TAJ MAHAL opened its doors at Herenstaat 1 in Bussum under the inspirational management of Ashique Baig.
He quickly settled in the Gooi area and the restaurant prospered as it built up a very loyal clientèle.
Over the following years three of Ashique’s younger siblings started working at the restaurant.
After Ashique passed away in December 2004, the family decided to continue the business. To this day they are still running the restaurant, serving some of the finest dishes the Indian kitchen has to offer, in a traditional ambiance.
Many of these dishes are prepared in a traditional Tandoori oven.
This charcoal heated oven brings a very characteristic flavour to the food.
Coupled with a vast array of herbs and spices the chef has the possibility to serve the customers with a wide range of Indian dishes and specialities.
The love for these dishes has been with the family since their childhood.
The family’s fine taste and professionalism have made it possible for you to enjoy the authentic Indian kitchen at restaurant TAJ MAHAL in Bussum for over 20 years now.
