Stichting Kumbatio helps vulnerable children in Children's home Kiota in Kenya, to give them a better future than the situation where they came from.

Geschiedenis

Stichting Kumbatio was founded by Yvette Boltze in The Netherlands. It is a small non-profit organisation that focusses on improving the life of children in Thika, Kenya by offering them a home with the name Kiota and helping them processing their traumas together with their families.

'Kumbatio' means 'embrace' in Swahili - the local language in Kenya.
'Kiota' means 'nest' in Swahili and symbolizes growth, warmth, care and preparing for the future.

"Kumbatio is een stichting die kinderen in Kenia een thuis geeft zolang zij niet bij hun familie kunnen wonen door mishandeling, misbruik of verlating. Wij willen deze kinderen een betere toekomst geven dan de toekomst die ze zouden hebben gehad als ze niet door ons zouden zijn opgevangen.Tegelijkertijd wordt er aan de families gewerkt om ervoor te zorgen dat de kinderen weer veilig kunnen worden herenigd.Wil je hieraan bijdragen door je als vrijwilliger op te geven of te doneren?
