SRAL is one of the leading conservation studios in the Netherlands working for public collections within the province of Limburg and nationally.
SRAL is one of the main conservation studios in the Netherlands working for public collections within the province of Limburg as well as on a national and international level. Currently SRAL consists of four conservation departments, Paintings, Sculpture, Historic Interiors, and Modern Art, and is a recognised teaching institute. The Institute is staffed with a dynamic team of international conservators and provides around ten internship placements per year for recently graduated conservators as well as training opportunities to those students enrolled in the Conservation of Cultural Heritage course at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) at Masters and Postgraduate levels. The conservation studios are housed in a spacious and recently refurbished historic industrial building which also contains a laboratory, photo studio and analytical research facilities. Conservation projects are carried out on traditional paintings, modern works of art, and large projects such as monumental historic interiors both in the studios and ‘on-site’. Staff conservators are encouraged to carry out research projects using the facilities available and the Institute is committed to the personal and professional development of its staff.
