The SIB is an international student association which organizes both intellectual and fun activities and which is open for all students!

Geschiedenis

With well over 400 members and its affiliation with the United Nations, the student association SIB is the largest international oriented student association in Groningen!

The SIB is open for all students, both applied sciences and university, regardless of your field of study or nationality. More than 30 percent of our members are international, and all our activities are in English.
SIB offers a unique combination of on the one hand informal and
social activities and on the other hand intellectual activities. This can be found in our intellectual activities (which we organise weekly), social activities, the orgization possibilities we offer, and our (international) trips.

For the last 68 years the SIB has offered numerous possibilities to
develop yourself as a student in Groningen, make friends and give you that few extra things in your student life. Do you want to witness the perfect combination of social and intellectual aspects? Or do you want to develop yourself by joining one or more committees or project-groups? Then the SIB is the place to be!

You can find us every monday evening at the Troubadour, Peperstraat 19, where all our activities take place, if not told otherwise. Feel free to stop by once in a while, since our evenings are open for everyone!

"SIB-Groningen is an international oriented Dutch student association, also known as the Dutch United Nations Student Association DUNSA. We organise lectures, symposia and conferences on Monday nights. They deal with international topics such as politics, law, environmental issues, terrorism, economics, and human rights.Our association also provides in the social aspects of student life. After every lecture, we have drinks or parties. We explore the world with our trips, from Morocco to Russia. Additionally, our members organise many events on our calendar, from lectures to parties to trips."
