The history of Moto Air filters goes back to the mid-80s when owner Herman van Lit was looking for the best possible air filter for the customers in his motocross shop. He wanted to provide his customers with an air filter they could always rely on, fitted perfectly and didn’t fall apart from bad cohesive after washing it a few times. He didn’t succeed in finding an air filter manufacturer that could answer to his needs or was able to deliver the desired quantity.
When the oppertunity arose, he took over a small production line from an airfilter manufacturer and started to produce his own air filters. After numerous tests he was able to sell air filters which fit perfectly, could withstand all types of cleaning solvents and above all provided the best protection for his customers bikes.
In 1991, Moto Air gained international attention when Trampas Parker won the FIM 250 Motocross World Championship on his Moto Air equipped factory Honda. Several other national and international successes in both motocross and sidecarcross would follow. An international distribution network was set up, which formed the basis of our global expansion.
Unlike air filters from other well known manufacturers, Moto Air filters are still being produced at our own facility in the Netherlands instead of in Asia. Therefore protecting our product quality, protecting your valuable bike from a failing air filter and staying true to our original intent and vision. Although production in the Netherlands may seem more expensive, we work very efficiently causing our prices to be lower than most other brands. We keep it clean, the choice is up to you!
