We define academic care as complex and highly specialised tertiary referral care TRF delivered to patients with severe or rare diseases or disorders that are difficult to treat. To maintain our expertise at the highest level, we participate in European Reference Networks. We share the knowledge that we acquire in these networks with our regional partners. Cooperation is crucial for all patients, and that includes cooperation with patients themselves."
