2005
The ten day vacation, which had taken us through a large part of the Lake District in England, was coming to an end. We spent most of the last day in Ambleside, England, on a comfortable leather couch in a charming little coffee-wine bar named “Lake Road”. We had done enough hiking throughout the last week and a half, and it was raining anyway, so what better way to spend the last few hours than by kicking back on the sofa while enjoying a soothing hot cup of coffee.
Cindy was reading her book while I chose to focus more on the songs that passed through the speakers rather than on the work of fiction that lay before me. After all, the bartender had my taste in music and, let’s be honest, how many times in your life does that happen?
Somehow this mentally rejuvenating cocktail of comfortable seating, a good book, great coffee, and fabulous music created a spark and planted an idea in our heads. Little did we know that our daydreaming that afternoon paved an old-English cobblestone road to an inevitable turning point in our lives.
March 2008
After hiking the long and winding road for a period of about two and a half years the end was in sight. We finally came upon our destination …and Latte's and Literature was born.
