Geschiedenis Sportpark De Toekomst is a stadium in Amsterdam, Netherlands. De Toekomst, is a sporting complex comprising 9 fields located next to the Amsterdam Arena in the municipality of Ouder-Amstel. Sportpark De Toekomst seats 5,000 people, and is the location where the second string of Ajax Amsterdam play their matches Jong Ajax and Ajax Zaterdag, as well as the youth teams Ajax A-juniors, B-juniors, C-juniors, D-pupils, E-pupils and the F-pupils. It also serves as the training grounds for the AFC Ajax senior squad. Images of Jong Ajax and Ajax A1 at this site are regularly seen on Dutch television. The letters ajax, visible on the training sites main grandstand, were previously mounted on Ajax old grounds at De Meer Stadion. The grandstand at De Toekomst was renamed after the deceased Bobby Haarms on 13 June 2009. On 3 July 2013 it was announced that an additional stand with 2,250 seats was to be built at De Toekomst, in order to accommodate an increase of spectators for the visiting team, as Jong Ajax, no longer playing in the Beloften Eredivisie, had joined the Eerste Divisie, the 2nd tier of professional football in the Netherlands.
