Info De noodhulp- en natuurorganisatie voor walvisachtigen in de Noordzee. Geschiedenis Charity foundation SOS Dolfijn; a specialised rehabilitation centre for stranded dolphins and porpoises. Over the years, many small cetaceans, mainly harbour porpoises, stranded on the Dutch coast have been treated. Animals stranded on German, Belgian and French shores have also been brought to SOS Dolfijn. Primary objective of the centre is to rehabilitate and release an animal in its natural environment. Education and research are important secondary objectives. The Charity foundation is dependent on donations and sponsoring. The marine environment faces many antropogenic threats and dolphins are affected in many ways. SOS Dolfijn hopes to play its part in nature conservation by doing this job.
