“A little shop with all kinds of knick-knacks”
 
The Modeca Company was founded around 1946 in Oldenzaal the Netherlands. In the past it was a cute little shop that supplied all kinds of knick-knacks such as laces and buttons. After a few years Modeca moved to Enschede the Netherlands where they successfully made bridal designs by hand. In 1958 Modeca moved the bridal wear production to a bigger facility, employing up to 150 employees in the workshop.

Creative 60’s and 70’s

“Creative and flexible partner for stores and brides”

In the 60’s Modeca was producing bridal, communion and maternity dresses. It was a busy time where Modeca was well known to be a creative and flexible partner for stores and brides. The 70’s was a huge change for the bridal industry, alternative brides in jeans riding bikes. Weddings where no longer interesting and people started to purchase flower dresses instead of the traditional wedding gown.

Romantic & Modern 80’s and 90’s

“Designs perfect for that romantic and modern feeling”

In the late 80’s marriage became popular, the white wedding romance was back again. In that period TV shows were all about happy weddings and beautiful brides. Modeca successfully started participating in exhibitions and were one of the first manufacturers of wedding dresses that started operating internationally. In the 90’s we still had the puffy sleeve look but brides slightly started to change their point of few on wedding dresses. They started to like the more romantic/modern look and the designs of Modeca Collection where perfect to get that feel.

Over the past years Modeca Collection presented designs which have been different, unique, modern but also sophisticated to Modeca brides. Many times the designs had a very innovative approach and Modeca never avoids any challenge in design. We introduce our exclusive bridal gowns of the Modeca Collection and Le Papillon by Modeca all over the world to give our Modeca brides the most exclusive look and feel on their special day.
