Info Delft Aerospace Rocket Engineering is a team of students from Delft University of Technology that designs, builds and flies record-breaking rockets. Geschiedenis Delft Aerospace Rocket Engineering (DARE) is a Delft University of Technology associated student rocketry organization. Within DARE students design, build and launch rockets and perform research on various rocketry related topics. DARE provides student members with the opportunity to apply the knowledge obtained during their study, giving members hands-on experience with space projects. DARE has around 100 members and has flown over 100 rockets since its founding in 2001. Over the years, DARE developed solid, hybrid and liquid fueled rocket engines, ranging from 100 N to over 10.000 N thrust. In 2009, DARE broke the European altitude record for amateur rocketry with the Stratos rocket, which was launched from Kiruna, Sweden and reached an altitude of 12.5 km. In October 2015 DARE launched the Stratos II+ rocket in Spain to an altitude of 21.5 km and broke its own altitude record. DARE also provides the rockets for the annual Dutch CanSat competition, organized by TU Delft and ISIS. During the CanSat competition, teams of high school students design a satellite that is launched to about 1 km altitude. In addition various TU Delft students have graduated on DARE related projects. Onze taak To be the first student team to reach space with a rocket that is fully designed, manufactured and operated by students.
