Plasticiet is a man-made marble crafted from local plastic trash, showing the potential of an underrated waste source.

Geschiedenis
Plastic. Het is een materiaal wat bijna het eeuwige leven heeft. Toch maken we er de meest ondergewaardeerde producten van. Verpakkingen, wegwerp service of beschermfolies die je zo lekker langzaam van je beeldscherm af kunt trekken. Met Plasticiet benadrukken we de hoogwaardige kwaliteit van plastic door plaatmateriaal te maken met een marmeren – of andere natuurstenen - look.
Dankzij een klein trucje in ons smeltrecept is dit mogelijk. Omdat we het ontzettend tof vinden wanneer er zoveel mogelijk mensen mee willen helpen de plastic soep tegen te gaan delen we dit trucje graag met je. Kom langs! Of stuur een berichtje. 
"Plasticiet is a building material that comes straight out of Rotterdam with the hard looks of natural stone but made from discarded plastics. In the M4H area we produce the material utilising a mix of techniques used by industry and craftsmen. Our rock-like material is applicable in furniture making, interior design, displays and purely decoratively. This way we contribute to the longevity of plastic before it ends up in waste burning facilities.Behind this initiative hide Marten Middel and Joost Dingemans, two product designers who based themselves in Rotterdam in 2013. Together they graduated from their Product Design studies at the Willem de Kooning Academy after which they kickstarted Plasticiet in 2018."
