Bartiméus is a Dutch organization who provides care, support, education and training for partially sighted or blind people. The organization aims to improve their quality of life providing personal advice, guidance and knowledge.
Bartiméus aims to improve the quality of life for the blind and partially sighted people. The client remains in total control during the entire process. Having said that: when a client comes to us with a certain question, we make sure that we continue searching until we have found the best possible answer or solution to the problem at hand.
We continually develop new services for people of all ages in the field of education, living accommodations, work and leisure. We have 17 offices, which offer tailor-made support for the client in his or her own environment.
 
General NCL EC
The NCL Centre of Expertise Bartiméus offers specialized support to persons with NCL. Some of them receive 24-hour support in group home. Others receive ambulant support. 
At the NCL Centre of Expertise, you can find answers to all your questions about NCL. The NCL Centre of Expertise is a multidisciplinary team that includes an ambulant caregiver, behavioral experts, a social worker, a physiotherapist and a Physician Intellectual Disability. We offer concrete support, advice and treatment for patients with NCL and their families and we coach professionals who are involved in the care of NCL patients. The NCL Centre of Expertise participate in scientific research, give presentation’s and  publishes articles and books."Wij zijn Bartiméus. Wij zijn er voor alle mensen in Nederland die slechtziend of blind zijn. Ook als ze een meervoudige beperking hebben of problemen ervaren met zien door bijvoorbeeld niet aangeboren hersenletsel. Met 1.800 medewerkers en ruim 800 vrijwilligers stellen wij alles in het werk om mogelijk te maken dat mensen met een visuele beperking het leven kunnen leiden dat bij hen past. Dat is ambitieus. Maar voor minder doen we het niet.We doen veel aan onderzoek, diagnostiek en behandeling. We begeleiden en adviseren door het hele land. We hebben eigen scholen, woonvoorzieningen en vormen van dagbesteding."
