Child psychology for children and adolescents in the Hague and surroundings. Services offered in English and Greek.

Geschiedenis
   Steps psychology for children and adolescents is a small practice based in the Hague and surroundings and is run by  Eleni Fydanidou (Msc in Child and adolescent psychology/Leiden University).  
   The main aim of my work is to help children and adolescents with diverse emotional and behavioral difficulties as well as their families. Services and counseling are offered in English and Greek.

Born in Greece, I am a child and adolescent psychologist who lives and works in The Hague.  I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Greece and my Master’s in Child and Adolescent Psychology at Leiden University. Furthermore, I have attended training workshops on diverse emotional and behavioral issues, child development,  ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) and PRT (Pivotal Response Treatment), interventions for children on the autism spectrum. I speak English, Dutch and Greek.

As a child psychologist, I work  in different settings and have experience with children and adolescents who are facing:

-Anxiety
-Low self esteem
-Negative thinking
-Stress due to changes (separation, divorce e.t.c)
-Transition problems
-Fears
-Conflicts between siblings
-Aggression
-Developmental milestones delays
-Difficulty in making friendships

My work includes many psycho-educational exercises and a creative way of dealing with children’s difficulties. It also includes CBT (cognitive behavior therapy) and behavior modification techniques. My main focus is the emotional development  in children since emotional intelligence is a key factor for children’s happiness and success in life.  Besides,  I am working as an educational assistant in the Lighthouse Special Education in the Hague.
