Geschiedenis ZJA Zwarts & Jansma Architects is an international office, located in Amsterdam and specialized in sport & leisure, infrastructure and public transport. Founded in 1990, the office is led by Rein Jansma, Reinald Top and Rob Torsing. Since the early years the office has grown steadily and has accumulated a thorough experience. We have acquired a reputation in designing large-scale projects such as sports and leisure buildings, public transport and infrastructural projects, and bridges. In recent years we have expanded our activities to other countries such as Germany, Belgium, Eastern Europe, Georgia and the UAE. Our office in Dubai takes care of our daily affairs in the region. Our Mission We are an optimistic team that translates often complex assignments into unexpected solutions in a distinct manner. That is based on our many years of experience with large-scale building projects. We value our reputation as designers of stadiums, bridges, stations and motorways. ZJA draws on state-of-the-art technical expertise thanks to its independent research & development department. In addition, our office boasts an inspiring, multinational and international network with complementary expertise from structural engineers, urban designers, acoustic engineers, interior architects, sustainability experts and software developers. Wherever we go, we look. At people, at cyclists, at queues, at building materials, at rituals, at supporters, at how people move in a park, at history, at menus, at a dune, at advertising. Everything we see finds its way back into our work. How We Work We use state-of-the-art automation and other techniques such as parametric design, file-to-factory applications and the most recent 3D-tools. Designing large-scale projects demands a flexible organisation and a fast and precise method of operation. We can easily adapt our office to the demands of a project. "Architects"
