The Dutch TT is a motorcycling event, traditionally held on the last Saturday of June at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands, as part of the MotoGP World Championship. However, after 2016 it is scheduled to be held on Sunday like other MotoGP venues. In the past all classes were part of the TT, nowadays only the Moto3, Moto2 and the MotoGP classes compete. The circuit where the race is held is known as "The Cathedral" of motorcycling. The Dutch TT was held for the first time in 1925. Since then the event has taken place every year with the exception of the years 1940 to 1945 because of the Second World War. This makes it the longest-running event on the MotoGP calendar.
