CUBE. Your take on Europe is a social project aiming to create an inclusive participation channel for young people in Europe. When it comes to participation in political processes, young people experience structural discrimination on the basis of their age. However, in order to promote a future-oriented political development in Europe that meets the requirements and expectations of its growing and future generations, young opinions must be taken into account in decision-making processes. It is particularly important that young opinions are represented in their diversity, because to this day only a small, homogenous group of privileged young people has an influence on European decisions. Young social groups, which are marginalised because of their ethnicity, religion, their affiliation to the LGBTQIA* community, a disability or their socioeconomic background, are not heard in these processes. Ignoring young opinions threatens our democracy and violates its principles. We are calling for a different Europe and, with CUBE, we are setting the hypothesis that a different kind of participation, the participation of the many is also possible at the European level. We would like to localise the idea of ​​Europe for and with our generation by giving all young Europeans the opportunity to actively engage with the political structures which shape their everyday lives and their future and to be represented in their diversity in the decision-making process.

CUBE. Your take on Europe ist eine soziales Projekt mit dem Ziel, einen inklusiven Partizipationsweg für alle jungen Menschen in Europa zu schaffen. Junge Menschen sind, was Mitbestimmung in der europäischen Politik angeht, aufgrund ihres Alters strukturell benachteiligt. Um aber eine zukunftsorientierte politische Entwicklung in Europa voranzutreiben, die den Anforderungen und Erwartungen ihrer heranwachsenden und zukünftigen Generationen gerecht wird, müssen junge Meinungen in Entscheidungsprozesse einfließen. Besonders wichtig ist es, dass junge Meinungen in ihrer Diversität repräsentiert sind, weil bis heute nur eine kleine, homogene Gruppe von privilegierten jungen Menschen, Einfluss auf europäische Entscheidungen nimmt. Junge gesellschaftliche Gruppen, die aufgrund ihrer Ethnie, Religion, ihrer Zugehörigkeit zur LGBTQIA*-Community, einer Behinderung oder ihres sozioökonomischen Hintergrunds marginalisiert werden, finden kein Gehör in diesen Prozessen. Das Ignorieren junger Meinungen gefährdet unsere Demokratie und verstößt gegen ihre Prinzipien. Wir fordern ein anderes Europa und stellen mit CUBE die Hypothese auf, dass eine andere, eine Partizipation der Vielen auch auf dem europäischen Level möglich ist. Wir möchten für und mit unserer Generation die Idee Europa lokalisieren, indem alle jungen Europäer*innen die Möglichkeit haben, sich aktiv mit den politischen Strukturen zu beschäftigen und in diesen in ihrer Diversität repräsentiert zu sein, die ihr Alltagsleben und ihre Zukunft prägen.
