The Creating Water Foundation uses water collected from the fog to turn desert land into green and productive land! The natural way..
We are trying to come with a solution to a huge scale problem, a structural change founded on the fact that our implementation is ‘clean’. We do want to solve a humane problem and don’t create an environmental at the same time. The fog nets used during our project are completely self-sustaining and don’t need any external polluting energy source. They don’t produce CO2 and can be placed anywhere. We are developing our strategies and techniques to improve the development of clean drinking water and productive land.
The difference between ’sustainable’ and ‘green’.
Our personal definition of “green” is relatively simple; an organization is green if they are not polluting their own environment. However, the words “green” and “sustainable’ often get mixed up. We use the word sustainable when we speak of ‘sustainable agriculture’ or ‘the possibilily to produce food, without negative influences to the quality of the ecosystem’.
By turning the desert green, step by step, we contribute to the deceleration/stop of environmental change concerning CO2 emission. Plants and trees produce en release oxygen to our air, taking up CO2. The plants will contain water in the top layer of the ground giving new flora and fauna a chance to grow.
