Celine Cairo (Amsterdam, 1990) is an Indie/Pop singer and songwriter. She self-released two EP's before releasing her long awaited debut album Free Fall last year. The album was written in Amsterdam, New York and Los Angeles and was eventually recorded in Los Angeles with producer Bill Lefler and her long-time band. On the album Celine talks a lot about her need to break free from her own mind, about the need to travel new places to remain sane and inspired.
Her latest single Quicksand is the last chapter of the Free Fall era. On the track Celine opens up about her struggles with deep highs and lows and the need to push forward, to create and move on. For the music video for Quicksand Celine travelled to Iceland to visually capture the struggle and beauty of her expressive mind.
Before writing and recording Free Fall, Celine studied music at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and collaborated with Fink on her second EP (Follow). She toured in and outside the Netherlands, won several awards and performed at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Carnegie Hall New York and Eurosonic/Noorderslag (2017).
Currently Celine is writing and recording new music and preparing for her tour later this year in the Netherlands.
