On Wednesday night, the painting was sold at Christie's for USD 12,632,894.12 (twelve million, six hundred thirty-two thousand eight hundred ninety-four U.S. dollars).

The painting had another owner after being sold in New York in 2007, but the work illustrates how speculating on the right painting can provide considerable returns.
