Geschiedenis

The American School of The Hague (ASH) is an American school in Wassenaar, Netherlands. Children can attend the school for a maximum of 13 years, from Pre-Kindergarten to 12th grade. However, many students come and go because it is a very international school. It is one of the three international focus schools in the area, others are the International School of The Hague and the British School in the Netherlands in Voorschoten. It is one of three international high schools in the area. There is a French school and German school both which run their national curriculum. There is also an international school in Rotterdam, The American International School of Rotterdam, that serves some of the area just south of The Hague. Some local Dutch schools have English-stream programs.

Vertaald door Google Geen school maar een besloten club. Irrelevante, verouderde kleine groep 'vrienden' in een besloten kring die zich speciaal voordoet. Zodra u uw kosten heeft betaald, zult u teleurgesteld zijn. Tenzij u afkomstig bent van de Amerikaanse ambassade of verbonden worden uw kinderen behandeld als tweede/derde klas. Ze doen echter enorm hun best om zich te vermommen. Een ultieme valkuil om te vermijden! Er is heel weinig 'Amerikaans' aan deze grappige, arrogante plek. Academisch niveau is ook twijfelachtig in vergelijking met lokale Nederlandse scholen. Origineel Not a school but a private club. Irrelevant, outdated little group of closed circle “friends” pretending to be special. Once you’ve paid your fees, you will be disappointed. Unless you come from the US Embassy or connected your kids will be treated as second/third class. They do make a huge effort to disguise themselves though. An ultimate trap to avoid! There is very little “American” about this funny, arrogant place. Academic level is also questionable if compared to local Dutch schools.

When I first moved from the USA I didn’t want to go to school I was nervous all the time but as soon as I met the teachers and kids I didn’t feel that way. My third grade teacher was probably the best I ever had to this day. I hope everyone who is reading this knows that this school is one in a million. Omdat ik erg vroeg aankwam, liet een leraar me de school zien en het zag er erg mooi uit. Als u de AP's of een ander examen aflegt, zorg er dan voor dat u op tijd aankomt, want u kunt onderweg verdwalen. Origineel Taken 3 AP exams in 2018 there. Very organized and the teachers were very friendly. Because I arrived very early, one teacher showed me around the school and it looked very nice. If you are taking the AP's or some other exam, just make sure you arrive on time since you might get lost on your way.
Vertaald door Google Als er een optie was om deze school nul sterren te geven, zou ik dat doen. Een van de slechtste onderwijsinstellingen die ik ooit heb bezocht. Van middelmatig personeel tot verlammende onderwijsprogramma's. Docenten en medewerkers zijn er niet om studenten te helpen uitblinken. Meerdere leraren geven de voorkeur aan studenten, als je toevallig een van de ongelukkigen bent die een hekel hebben, zullen leraren hun best doen om dat duidelijk te maken. Geen enkele nuttige hulp gekregen voor mijn verdere opleiding. Deze instelling is alleen geobsedeerd door hun imago en niet door het welzijn van hun studenten. Zou het sterk afraden. Stuur je kinderen in plaats daarvan naar de British School in Nederland. Origineel If there was an option to give this school zero stars, I would. One of the worst educational institutions I've ever attended. From the mediocre staff to crippling education programs. Teachers and staff aren't here to help students excel. Multiple teachers favour students, if you happen to be one to the unlucky ones who are disliked, teachers will go out of their way to make that evident. Didn't not receive any beneficial help towards my further education. This institution is only obsessed with their image and not the well being of their students. Would strongly advise against. Send your children to the British School in the Netherlands instead.

Ik geloof echt dat mijn opleiding bij ASH verantwoordelijk is voor mijn succes in het leven... zoveel mooie herinneringen!!!
